Mule’s Park, Eastcliff is quite close to the centre of Teignmouth, on the A379 towards Dawlish. Here are cliff top meadows with lovely trees and more formal gardens – an area brimming with wildlife. Much of the park has been planned with the visually handicapped in mind, so the paths are light in colour and very smooth. There is a large Pay & Display car park and the arched gate at the back leads to the park.

At Dawlish Warren there is a National Nature Reserve where there is a visitor centre and the opportunity to watch birds from a hide. Tel: 01626 863890.

Two Local Nature Reserves are available to the public: Hackney Marshes and Jetty Marsh (managed by Teignbridge District Council) and two more LNRs at Aller Brook and Coombe Valley will be designated soon.

Allow up to 10 hours to complete the walk and check tide tables before setting out, as it is only safe to walk the estuary section within 2 hours of low tide.

Labrador Bay is just south of Shaldon. Council-owned meadows and scrub on the cliff tops offer spectacular views of the sea and coast, with wonderful wildlife to discover.
