National Trust land nearby provides the opportunity to take pleasant walks with breathtaking views towards the sea and the beautiful rolling Devon countryside or you can walk along the South Devon coastal path. For people interested in wildlife, parts of the Teign Estuary are designated as Local Nature Reserves and Sites of Special Scientific Interest. Lyme Bay, an area of major geological interest, is in nearby Dorset and down the coast in the opposite direction, is Torbay. From Teignmouth it is approximately a 30-minute drive to Exeter or the beautiful Dartmoor National Park and Plymouth is about an hour’s drive away.
